Covid-19: Rules and regulations (Singapore) for funeral wakes, crematoriums & some columbariums during Circuit Breaker Phase 2 as of 22nd October 2020

As Singapore slowly moves along Phase 2 of the circuit breaker, some rules and regulations have changed since the start of entering Phase 2.

Below is a list of common queries of various common locations:

Funeral Services Wake location

  • 30 Pax at any one given time (religious personnel and pallbearers excluded)
  • Safe distancing of 1-meter must be maintained at all times
  • Masks worn at all times
  • Each table with a max seating of 5 pax
  • Take temperature, Scan or fill in contact tracing channels upon arrival
  • No serving of buffet style meals

 

Foot procession for sending off

  • Max 30 pax with social distancing observed
  • Masks worn at all times

Mandai crematorium

  • Max 30 pax (entry passes will be issued and will be checked upon main gate before allowing entry)
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Masks worn at all times
  • No serving of snack, food items, or drinks
  • Attendees are recommended to leave as soon as possible after cremation service to avoid over crowding

Mandai Ash Collection:

  • Max 10 Pax per group
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Masks worn at all times
  • Take temperature and scan safe entry before entering

Mandai & Choa Chu Kang Columbarium:

  • 5 pax per group
  • Masks worn at all times
  • Social distancing between different groups
  • Offerings and prayer items and rituals are allowed

光明山 Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (Bright Hill Temple)

  • Cremation Service
    • Max 30 pax
    • Masks worn at all times
    • Social distancing
    • No serving of food and drinks after cremation service
    • Attendees are advised to leave as soon as possible after cremation service is completed
  • 寄灵堂 Ancestral Hall
    • Max 5 pax
    • Masks worn at all times
    • Social distancing rule applies
    • Only the 7th day and 49th day prayers and rituals are allowed
  • Ash Collection
    • Max 10 pax
    • Masks worn at all times
    • Social distancing rule applies

Choa Chu Kang cemetery

  • Max 30 pax
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Masks worn at all times
  • No serving of snack, food items, or drinks
  • Attendees are recommended to leave as soon as possible after burial service to avoid over crowding
